Program Mission:
To educate and empower youth athletes on the aspects of training, nutrition, mental focus of racing and all that goes into taking your athlete to the next level. This is a camp that will focus on what it takes to get better and not primarily a “boot camp” or over distance camp. I will prepare them for how to train when injured, how to mentally focus for the big race, how to overcome doubt and how to visualize winning. “It is the small stuff that leads to greatness”.
In addition to a comprehensive training schedule which includes trail running throughout Summit County and Leadville's Turquoise Lake, 14,000’, an afternoon canoeing on Lake Dillon, an afternoon with a Yoga Instructor learning the values and benefits of yoga and flexibility for runners, an afternoon at the Silverthorn Recreational Center learning how to run in the deep water followed by a very competitive game of water volleyball. After dinners we head over to the Summit County Middle School for a fast and furious game of barefoot soccer or to the park for barefoot volleyball. Exhaustion is free!
